Caringbah Family Practice is a private billing practice, fees are payable at the time of consultation.
Appointments booked from 7:30am-8:30am & after 5pm are premium time slots and the full private fee will be charged for appointments within these times.
All Saturday appointments are charged at the full fee rate as per the fee table below + an additional service fee charge of $20 per appointment.
Bulk billing is not available, with the exception of Chronic Disease Management plans for those eligible and Annual Health Assessments for patients aged 75+ will continue to be bulk billed.
Telehealth consultations are privately billed.
Test Results
Test results will often require an appointment with your doctor. Please discuss with your doctor whether a follow-up appointment is required. Fees apply to an appointment for test results because we often need to plan further investigation or future treatment once we have the results.
If you have not returned to discuss your test results, and your doctor wishes to speak with you about non-urgent test results, you will receive an SMS reminder asking you to make an appointment. For any urgent test results, a staff member will contact you directly to make an appointment.
Where a GP determines that it is clinically safe and that a follow-up consultation is not required, an SMS will be sent indicating that no further action is required. In many cases, blood test results can be viewed on your my health record one week after being processed by the lab. Test results cannot be given over the phone by our reception staff. It is our practice policy that only clinical staff are permitted to release results.
Payment types
The practice accepts Visa, MasterCard, EFTPOS and cash. For your convenience, our reception team can process your Medicare rebate immediately upon payment (except online bookings for telehealth appointments). If you have already submitted your bank details to Medicare, your rebate will be paid into your nominated bank account within two working days.
Cancelling your appointment
Appointment times are limited at Caringbah Family Practice. If you must cancel your appointment, we respectfully request as much notice as possible. Patients who fail to attend or give less than three hours’ notice to cancel their appointment will be asked to pay a cancellation fee.
Worker’s Compensation or Work Injury Consultation Fees
Patients are responsible for all accounts until they provide a written approval & acceptance of claim & payments from the insurance company. Contact details need to be provided for direct billing and payment from the insurance company. Prior to these details being provided, the patient is to ensure payment of $250 is made on the day of consultation. Please consult your insurance company as this can usually be reimbursed to you at a later date if they accept liability of your claim.
